I saw something Thursday I haven’t seen since, well, um, let’s see … give me a minute here … nope, I don’t recall ever seeing this.

I saw a baseball player sitting in front of his locker – get ready to hang on to something – reading a book!

That’s right, prior to the Indians’ game Thursday, Tribe pitcher Jeremy Sowers was sitting in front of his locker, openly reading the book “I Am America” by Stephen Colbert.

Showoff.

Okay, I probably shouldn’t condone the use of the “jock” stereotype here … but that’s just funny. Way to go, Mr. Sowers; that’s one way to ensure I’ll never call you a “belly-itcher”!
