Guest alert: Jennifer 8. Lee on ‘The Colbert Report’ on March 4th

Having had to eat my words on yesterday’s initial “Guest alert” posting, I’m a little wary of posting this today. Still, since it’s coming from the author, herself, I’ll take that chance.

From The Fortune Cookie Chronicles:

I’ll be on The Colbert Report on March 4th
By Jennifer 8. Lee | February 27, 2008

We booked it a while ago, but finally confirmed it. Thank god the writers’ strike is over!

And from that blog’s sidebar (internal link omitted):

A live-action blog to go with the book, The Fortune Cookie Chronicles, due out in March 3, 2008, on how Chinese food is all-American. There are more Chinese restaurants in America than McDonalds, Burger Kings, and Wendys combined. The Fortune Cookie Chronicles is for anyone who has ever wondered who is General Tso and why are we eating his chicken; why Jews eat Chinese food on Christmas; and who really invented the fortune cookie. New York Times reporter, Jennifer 8. Lee, solves enduring mysteries of Chinese cuisine through a mix of in-depth research and entertaining personal anecdotes.

P.S. “Thank god the writers’ strike is over!” I couldn’t agree more, Ms. Lee.

@Lisa: Do not lead me into temptation!

Of course I had to go to Wikipedia to check that 8 was Ms. Lee’s actual middle name. I’ve never heard of that before.

Ms. Lee has taken exception to the DC metro posters warning riders not to eat or drink on the subway. I think she’s just jealous of the rat-free rails. Still, I look forward to her interview.

I think from now on I shall call myself Gina 24 Jones. Gotta ring to it.
