Celebrating the return of The WØRD
ByA full episode guide of last night’s Colbert Report is still on the way but, for now, I’m delighting in the return of The WØRD. Bullet didn’t have a whole lot to do last night, but the McCain limerick alone makes this one worth its weight in gold.
There once was a man named McCain
Who had the whole White House to gain.
But he was quite a hobbyist,
Of boning his lobbyist,
So much for his ‘08 campaign.
Hee! MotherLoad isn’t letting me in at the moment, but here’s the Comedy Central video, via Raw Story:

I was SO happy to finally see a new Word on last night. There was lots of cheering and woo whooing for it’s return. Now I’m wondering how long “Warrior-Poet” will remain in the opening credits.

I missed the Word badly too. I think it’s probably the best segment of the show. But I think the Word last night was a little off. First day back, and the Word is a bit rusty. Although he definitely had some good one-liners, it seemed a little unfocused. Meh, just an off day.
I’m really looking forward to the Tony Snow interview.

“I don’t vaguely suggest things … from behind.”
Oh man, he is SO DARN CUTE! (rest of thought snipped for lack of family friendliness, but let’s just say Evelyn is one lucky lady)
