Pundit war a-brewin’
ByBring it, baby!
As noted in our recap of Wednesday night’s episode, Stephen Colbert was forced to address some stern words to fellow late night host Conan O’Brien. Why? Because Mr. O’Brien rather laughably tried to take credit for Mike Huckabee’s success (“I made Huckabee!”). Stephen quite rightfully smacked Conan around for his temerity, and reasonable people might have guessed it would end there.
Well, not so fast. Conan O’Brien has stepped up to defend his indefensible position. Watch and enjoy:
Hee! Is that a “Pundit Off” I smell?

Really Conan? Dancing? Don’t even try to ride Stephen’s coattails.

When this strike is over, everyone is going to say, “That strike was terrible but one great thing did come out of it–the Colbert/Conan Feud!!”

I’ve started watching again and have kinda been enjoying the first part of Conan’s show since the Writer’s Strike (though especially lately he’s been relying on too few things such as the zipline), but did anyone else find that incredibly awkward and hard to watch? I was looking forward to it too after I saw Colbert’s skit….

Oh my gosh, that was amazing! I hope they keep this going. The two should have a dance off, mediated by Ellen Degeneres.

OMG, that was hilarious! I love Conan. I can’t wait to see how they resolve this feud.

That was so funny! This is going to be good.
It makes me think of TDS segments where Jon gets out popcorn and soda right before showing new clips. I’m ready with my popcorn and soda. Now I just need the video clips.

They should resolve it with a dance off, obviously. And the part about Conan making Colbert… wouldn’t it be cool if Jon got in on it? He could argue that HE made Colbert, NOT Conan. I don’t think he would, but I can dream.

So that’s time used up on three shows… four if we can get the dance off mediated by Ellen…
Think how pis… annoyed the big bosses would be – everyone appearing on each others shows…

Hmm, tonight Conan mentioned that Barack Obama would be on the show next week. Didn’t Stephen say that Obama refused to appear on his show due to the strike? He’d better not be snubbing the Colbert Report!

Oh thanks Chica, but I don’t have CNBC, I’m at Uni so all we have is the basic 1-5 channels :-( I’ll look out for it when i’m home for the holidays though!

Yes, they should resolve their “differences” a la a dance-off and maybe a sing-off too. I miss Stephen singing, and I’ve heard Conan’s been doing a lot of it lately as a clock-gobbler. Wouldn’t it just be perfect? Dare to dream…

I don’t get the temporary host joke.. And Conan did grasp at straws with the Mike Huckabee thing..
I was a Conan fan before I realized I could watch the Report online and have been with O’Brien even when he fakes rallying his mob (like, “Yeah! Conan!”).
But, I gotta give this to Colbert, so.. can’t wait to watch Colbert’s take soon!

I thought Conan was extremely funny and I don’t always like his show.
I cannot wait to see Stephen’s response! There is no way Conan is going to win this one.
Fight! Fight! Fight! :-)

Some of the best entertainment I’ve seen this week. Hopefully this feud will continue for a loooooong time. And hopefully Huckabee stays in the race to make sure they’ll have enough material to keep it going. This was seriously funny.
