Anyone who’s been to a taping of The Colbert Report and spoken with audience coordinator extraordinaire Mark Malkoff knows he’s a friendly and entertaining guy. Looks like the mainstream media is catching on to that, too. Here’s a listing of some of the outlets that have covered Mark’s Ikea odyssey (see MarkLivesInIkea.com) lately:
- CNN: Man lives at IKEA (video) – Thanks for the tip, babyberT!
- Reuters: New York City too expensive? Try a room at IKEA
- ITN (UK): Comedian flat packs his life
- Chicago Tribune: Comedian, dreamers give new meaning to ‘home store’
- am New York: Watch It
- Scopical (AU): Man moves into IKEA store
- ABC 7: Manhattan comic moves into Ikea
- New York Post: Quite a Week in Store
- NJ.com: Biz Buzz: Yet he still can’t pronounce the names of the furniture
Way to work the media, Mark!
I’m so glad he’s getting so much publicity, he’s such a great guy as well as a taping experience institution. It isn’t really a Colbert taping ’till you see and/or talk to Mark.

Hahaha! I love someone who’s got such a crazy sense of humor like that.

I wrote about the Ikea project in my personal blog and I’ve been getting a lot of search engine hits for things like “comedian lives in ikea” and “mike [sic] lives in Ikea.”

My local station in Denver covered this at the end of the late news. Go Mark!

This is too funny…Mark’s made the front page of Yahoo! If you click there now (or relatively soon), you should still be able to see him there with the caption, “Comic Crashes at IKEA”. Hahaha!
