Verrrry interesting how it’s split into acts…I guess this confirms that the show will be mostly guest interviews, then.

Oh dear. I’m not sure I like the looks of this, since it sort of looks like they’re trying to conform to the usual format and guests.
I totally get that they have to book the guests they can scrape up. But I’d rather see something more along the lines of: Intro + Act I: Stephen riffs with Jon (like an extended toss); Act II: Stephen talks about/satirizes strike news; Act III: Stephen profiles the work of a writer of TCR (show clips, etc.); Act IV: a guest, I suppose; but if a guest is particularly boring (Krugman), I wish Stephen would ‘doze off’ while the guest is speaking and dream (via clips) he was doing the real TCR (camera comes up on Stephen’s face with tears in his eyes; ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t hear a word you said…that’s all we have time for’); Act V: street interview with strikers; then…everybody dances? (Like the end of SWC episodes; I think it would be pretty hysterical to see Stephen getting down with his cameramen and crew, and people in the audience). Anything to avoid business as usual—keep the focus on the strike.

I can’t wait to see how Stephen does with Huckabee (especially if Huckabee wins Iowa) and the ‘Colbert Bump’… What was Huckabee polling at when he first went on the show? Like 1%?? Well, it could be Chuck Norris, too, but we can still believe that the ‘Colbert Bump’ had something to do with it.

I wonder if Paul Krugman will eat his cricket… because I do believe that Stephen’s book beat out his… (Paul Krugman was the one he had the bet with, right?)

Here’s a site with other shows’ guests…
The Daily Show is still TBD…along with the rest of the latenights…according to that page…but there are rss feeds on this page if you are one for instant updates…

The local NBC NY newscasters are announcing on air that Conan and Leno were forced back on the air tonight w/o writers or their “staffs would be fired,” so I guess the AMPTP pressure is no longer a rumor.

Jane Fonda should come “back for more”. Kisses.

Much as it would make fantastic TV, I think the chances of Jane Fonda crossing a picket line are really really slim :-)

Well, h, what exactly is Colbert supposed to do? The major actors aren’t going to cross the line.

Oh, I’m sure Jane Fonda won’t actually come back to the show unless a deal is made a la Letterman. It’s just a pipe dream (and maybe a smidgen of jealousy over Fonda’s “lap-time”). But, it would make for good TV.
