A few more words from Stephen Colbert’s TimesTalk appearance

By Ms Interpreted on November 23rd, 2007 ·

I happened upon a couple of additional goodies from last Friday’s TimesTalk (for anyone who didn’t think our write-up was exhaustive enough).

First of all, here’s another picture of our favorite pundit:

TimesTalk 11/16/07

Additional pics are in Miss Kean’s photostream here and here (I think that third one is actually my favorite, but the smaller size that would have fit this template better wasn’t quite as compelling as the one above).

And second, I stumbled upon this page by Doug Pratt (or DOuG pRATt), who also attended the event at the New York Times Center Stage. He managed to splice together a recording of a few minutes of the talk, which he’s posted on the linked page. Very sneaky, Mr. Pratt (not that I’m complaining . . . )!

Colbert is SO hot.
And I went to Northwestern when he was there, and I know exactly where he lived, and I went to the dorm parties there, and I somehow never met him … ARGHH!!!!!

I didn’t want to get myself in *too* much trouble for being sneaky, so I posted only a few minutes of what I have. The woman next to me was very loud, so I had to do some tight splicing, which is why there’s no laughter after Colbert’s line about Doritos.

That is not a good background color for him. Or probably anybody.

But, hey, Stephen news! Woo!

Any word on a podcast of the event?

@ DOuG pRATt,

Ha ha! I can understand that. I’m impressed that you were able to get as much as you did with any sort of clarity. Thanks for taking the time to splice it together and post it.

@ Sandra,

We’ll let you know if we see anything. There has been no word at the TimesTalks site, and, as many of the podcasts currently available there are from 2005, I’m not holding my breath.

Aw, those are some lovely photos – thank you, Miss Kean! I have to admit I liked the orange NYT Center, but it is hardly a flattering background color, and it did get overwhelming after a while.

Can’t wait to listen to the audio. Sigh, the memories…
