As you may have heard, the AMPTP took out ads in Variety and other trade publications earlier this week insisting that writers already are paid residuals for digital downloads. In response, The Daily Show‘s Tim Carvell gathered some of his friends together to show off the truly obscene luxuries these residuals allowed them to purchase:
