What’s on your wish list? The Colbert doll

Sorry folks, this is one-of-a-kind. But talk about market potential! The imaginative toymasters at Toyfare Magazine have created a Stephen doll to fulfill their wish list. Click on the image to go to the full page scan, which describes the entire potential line of Colbert toys:

  • Tad the long-suffering Building Manager, with tumbling action
  • Stephen Jr., to help Stephen fight the bears
  • Esteban Colberto (a Toyfare exclusive!) with “arm-candy chicas and inappropriate hip action”

I don’t know about you, but I’d buy it. Thanks to servoisnaked for the scan!

P.S. Toyfare made this doll at Plastic-Earth.com. And the holiday season is already upon us. I’m just saying.

Flashback: Of course, they weren’t the first to mess around with a figurine representation of Stephen. Here’s the one from Stephen Colbert Day. -TLE

Just when I thought I was too old for toys…I may have to rethink that.

I love them so so much for mentioning Tad and his tumbling action. (is it just me or is that scan tiny? I can’t read anything hardly) They seriously need to make this doll and accompanying Building Managers happen.

I’m surprised old Papa Bear doesn’t have a whole line of Bill O toys to go along with his line of instructional children’s books. Maybe that would be too ridiculous even for him. But not for Stephen. It would give him endless jokes, I’m sure.

One wonders how much John Jay Viacom Jr. III is making from this doll…

Now how much do the figurine artisans make in residuals?

Tad, complete ‘with tumbling action.’ HEEE!! I want Stephen to come with a full assortment of costumes, too! Roman general. Airline pilot. American flag…

Um, wait a second…I think there’s one thing missing.

  11. Betsy says:

I’m going to nitpick here. This Stephen doll is wearing trousers with cuffs. I attended the DC book signing event and remember Stephen said he didn’t wear trousers with cuffs anymore because he once caught his heel in his trouser cuff and fell. I assumed by his inflection that it’s been a long time since he’s worn cuffed trousers.

Otherwise, I’d want the Stephen and Tad dolls under my tree.

I actually dreamed that I was talking with Charlie Gibson (Good Morning America) and somehow I had a “pocketsize” real live talking Stephen, in my pocket, which I took out and set on the desk. Sadly, this thing pictured above doesn’t look like Stephen. His hair’s wrong. His eyes are not right. And cuffs? I don’t think so. Sigh, think I’ll just keep dreaming.

Pocket-size Stephen… that sounds like a whole other comic book series altogether…

Yes, a pocket-sized Stephen. I like it! We have to make sure he has a pocket-sized “On Notice” board too. How tiny would that thing be? LOL!
