I know many of you are waiting until after the strike is resolved to purchase the ‘Best of’ DVD, but those of you buying it now may want to consider going to Best Buy; a purchase there comes with a bonus disc. According to poster jaydebeau on Yahoo! Answers, “The bonus disc is a 21:20 Tek Jansen bonus disc. I don’t think there’s any way to fast foward through the order. There are no chapter stops. Since there is no Tek Jansen on the regular DVD, I’m recommend buying it at Best Buy.”
I do not know whether/how the writers are paid for this, but I assume residuals are calculated according to the existing DVD formula.

It’s on my Christmas list, that is, if the strike lets up before the holidays. If it persists, I will wait until the writers’ contracts have been renegotiated so that they are justly compensated for their work.
But, it’s a great tip for die hard Tek fans out there…thank you!

I’m a big Tek fan, and I’ll get it at Best Buy with a gift card I got over Xmas. Waiting for the strike to end won’t really affect the writers of Tek (at least I don’t think it will). My understanding is that cartoon writers are represented by a rival guild. (the IATSE as opposed to the WGA)
