SIX DEGREES – Matt Lappin and pals in comedy shows this month
ByPeople who have had the opportunity to go to the “Colbert Report” studio for live shows might have had the opportunity to see TCR staffer Matt Lappin promoting his latest comedy showcase. The show, called [edited to keep this a family-friendly blog] The F@#k Monkeys Unite, is a music and comedy show where Matt farms people from his TV past, and “gets them together to make some mookey”. From reports we’ve gotten from people who have been able to attend, they are quite a hoot and not to be missed.
The F@#k Monkeys will be performing on Friday, November 9th in mid town. For more information about times and location, check out their slightly profane yet amazingly unique promo poster for the event.
The next show this month is November 24th, and will feature Greg Hollimon, who most of you know as Principal Onyx Blackman from ‘Stangers with Candy’. That show is at the Parkside Lounge at 317 E Houston from 9-10pm.
I imagine that since the writers and staff are kind of free about now, that there will be a fantastic chance of seeing many of them at these shows. Plus come on guys, you have GOT go to see Greg if you get the chance. Because hey, it’s Greg Friggin’ Hollimon!
So be there!

’slightly profane’???? You don’t know profane, until you have seen them in the flesh.
and, Don’t Tell Mama’s will NEVER be the same… what a great venue on Restaurant Row, in the HEART of the Theatre District.

Let’s hope they don’t get banned from this venue.
