From the sublime to the ridiculous

F#!*ing Fox News takes its usual compassionate and substantive look at the strike (yes, that’s the original punctuation and emphasis):

Writers on Strike: So Tell Us Your Jokes!

Hollywood writers went on strike Monday morning, meaning late-night talk show hosts from Leno and Letterman to Stewart and Colbert will have nothing to say!

FOXNews.com invites you to “audition” your comedic talent by writing jokes based on today’s news stories. We’ll post what we think are the best.

I’m not advocating that anyone go trolling, but I just had to vent. You can practically *taste* their collective glee.

You’re stronger than I am. I don’t click on Faux-news articles — and try to avoid reading even the Google blurbs.
LA Times blogs has a quote from John Oliver, who was on the picket lines this morning — it occurred to me to go down and show support, but that’s way too early for me. Damn. I doubt the ‘faceless’ Colbert Report writers will get coverage, but you never know…
