Charleston’s favorite son is coming home for the holidays! Yes, Stephen Colbert, America’s favorite know-it-all, political pundit and Wiz-Kid, returns to Charleston (The Capital of Colbert Nation) for an exclusive appearance in Stephen Colbert’s Holiday Apparition, a benefit for Charleston Stage.

Stephen Colbert’s Holiday Apparition will include a reading from Stephen’s best selling new book: I Am America (And So Can You!), which is currently The New York Times number one bestseller, an interview about growing up in Charleston, and his journey from Charleston to Chicago’s Second City Improv Troupe to his hit Comedy Central series, The Colbert Report. Stephen’s rare appearance will conclude with a Q & A session with the audience.

Proceeds from Stephen Colbert’s Holiday Apparition will benefit Charleston Stage and its extensive arts-education programs, which reach over 20,000 Lowcountry youth each year.

    He is indeed an Angel….

Are they selling t-shirts with that image? They’d make a mint! This makes me want to go to Charleston for the holidays (but I’ll probably end up in Jersey instead…)

  3. Laaaura says:

That sounds like it will be such a great event!

  4. Shruti says:

omfg, I want one of those VIP tickets so badly.

That would be so expensive, though – buying the ticket, traveling to South Carolina. I can’t, I can’t, I can’t do that. Well. I mean, I guess I *could*, but no.

Lucky South Carolinians – I expect reports from those who get to go!

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

Wish I had $250 to party with Stephen. Sigh.

I think I just found my Christmas card. ‘)

  7. OnYouthfulCynicism says:

Cursed Ohio, centrally located to make it just impossible (for a poor college student) to visit any city worthwhile, i.e., one that Stephen visits.

Oh well, I’m just glad to see that Stephen is continuing to be his wonderful self and doing good for South Carolina.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0

    Sigh.

This just reminded me that if the writer’s strike isn’t resolved soon, there will be no TCR Christmas special. That would be so awesome: Stephen singing with Tony Bennett and Manilow? (Emmy please!) Stephen’s beleaguered staff resentfully participating. Stephen wishing Jon ‘happy his thing too.’ Stephen drinking too much egg nog and sexually harrassing Tad…

    Sigh.

Shout Out (Hey!): Thumb up 0
