For those of you new to this site – we are 100% Pro-Colbert, and also we are supportive of the efforts of the writers. We are NOT, I repeat, NOT, looking for a “substitute Colbert” during these trying times. We don’t want someone who’s kind of like Stephen and Jon, we want Stephen and Jon. Period.
So please, stop spamming our comments with adverts for videos of people who can “get us through.” We don’t want a substitute. We want Stephen.
If you comment spam, or e-mail spam every single one of our staff with e-mails to your site with your “substitute Colbert”, I can guarantee you you’re not getting a free plug. We’re grieving and we’re worried and we’re cranky. All you are going to do is piss us off.

This might cheer you up just a little: I was at my local Ikea this afternoon. We were looking for one of those ladders to go with a bookcase. Anyway! I was at the downstairs desk asking where they might have them, and I was leaning on the catalog. One of the employees pointed at the catalog and laughed. I moved my arms off he catalog (thinking I was on the ladder page). He pointed at my wrist, laughed again, and said “WristStrong!” He hadn’t ever seen one on someone. We were both happy about the encounter and high-fived each other. Another employee said he was a fan, too. Much Stephen love at the Sacramento Ikea today!

DB, do you happen to know anything about availability of Comedy Central videos? They just don’t load for me (whether at the TCR site or the TDS archive or embedded in other websites). I don’t know whether it’s anything to do with me being in the UK? Are they banning non-US access?
We don’t get TCR in the UK. Jon is great but he’s not Stephen. How am I ever going to see Stephen again?

I’ve seen other people on colboard saying the same thing (from France, Germany, Canada..). I was having trouble with the search function on thedailyshow.com.. looking for Stephen clips.. it stopped working but then started again… France person said it’s back for them.. but for the Canadians it appears to be off and on. :( Can you purchase them, once the strike is over, from iTunes? :(

From colboard “You know you guys outside of the country can enter in by proxies, or masking your IP as if it were an IP in the states. Google it. I tried it and was able to view videos on The Comedy Network after being blocked for my foreign IP.
I have also been having trouble with Motherload and TDS.com since Friday. Perhaps something to do with the strike?”

I don’t know whether I can purchase them from iTunes. I’ve downloaded iTunes. I have no idea whether I can play things from iTunes on my non-iPod, but I can’t find Stephen’s stuff on iTunes. I can find an audiobook of the WHCD but that’s it. The “TV shows” option on iTunes turns up nothing. I don’t know whether that means there’s no TV shows available in the UK on iTunes. I don’t understand why they’d make stuff available on the other side of the pond but not here?

I’m beyond depressed about this strike, but I totally support all the wonderful writers, especially for TDS and TCR. They all work so hard to give us these wonderful shows and life without them, for however long, will be somber.
And seriously, HOW in the world could ANYONE find a substitute that even holds a candle to Jon or Stephen? I’d like to see you try…

All the ‘Reports’are available to buy on the US store, you can change store to the US itunes and take a look, but you cant buy them with a UK account-someone is taking the “P”
