In case you’re wondering . . .
ByYes, Stephen should get his $2500 filing fee back (source: THE USA Today). He also wanted to appear on the ballot as “Stephen ‘South Carolina’ Colbert,” but unless he gathers the 10,000 signatures needed to run as an Independent, you won’t ever be seeing that on the ballot. Thanks a lot, thirteen members of the South Carolina Democratic Party executive council!
Since I’m trying to work off a full head of “cranky” right now, I thought I’d share my current On Notice board with you:

I’m sure he’d have no problem getting 10k signatures, but I doubt he’d want to run as an independent. He said his intention was to get a delegate for the convention. Picking up a few % in SC in the general isn’t very interesting, and would mean continuing his “campaign” storyline for an entire year.
Nah. Won’t happen.

I’m so depressed.
And running as an independent would just be pointless.

Ms I, I love your On Notice Board! Biggest laugh of the night for me, well, besides Stephen.

@ jentaps,
Thanks; I’m glad I managed to make you laugh. Outside of the show, there wasn’t nearly enough to laugh at yesterday.
