UPDATE: Stephen Colbert will NOT be in Charleston on Saturday

Sorry about this, folks, but there’s been a change of plans for this Saturday’s scheduled Stephen Colbert appearance at the College of Charleston. From our diligent and dedicated source:

Stephen Colbert will not appear this Saturday, October 27 on the College of Charleston campus due to a scheduling conflict; however, the voter registration drive will continue from Noon – 3 p.m. in the Stern Center Ballroom, located on the 4th floor of the Stern Center at the corner of George and St. Philip Streets.

All is not lost, however. This message, containing a bit of additional information, also went out to the Colbert-faithful:

Due to the weather and other conflicting events, Stephen Colbert will not be able to make it this Saturday. We talked to his people this afternoon and they gave us the bad news. However, if not before, he will be coming down to Charleston in January to tape some shows of the Colbert Report at the Sottile Theatre. Thank you very much for helping me get the word out about this event and I will let you know if he does decide to come down before his show in January. Thanks.

So again, we’re sorry on behalf of those of you who hoped to see Stephen this weekend at the C of C. But keep your chins up; you’ll have another chance in January, if not before.
