I Am America (And So Can You!) makes best seller lists.

Add best selling author to Stephen Colbert’s resume. I’m no expert on this best seller lists, but I’m learning about them as they come out this week. Here’s the latest lists, as of today at 4:30 pm EST.

And he’s doing ok in the Great White North, as well!

If anyone has any insight into the New York Times Best Sellers List and when we should expect to see IAA(ASCY!) appear (as it is destined to do), please leave a comment.

Why do I have a sneaky feeling that Jessica Seinfeld is going to be a guest on the show in the near future? :)

#4 in all books on Amazon! That very impressive,
I bet Hatchett is very happy.

#507 on Amazon.co.uk… which isn’t that bad, when you think about it :)

NYT list lags by a couple weeks, like 2-3. Lists released Saturday for Sunday Book Review, so likely a week and a half.

@TracyUK – Not bad for an import. He’ll be up there when the UK edition is released!

@Middie: thanks for the info. I couldn’t figure out how he would be on so many lists and completely missing from NYT. (Not to mention Ann C’s dropping towards oblivion on all the rest and remaining on theirs?)

So, NYT requires some patience at first, but once the big sales are over you can see the name up there for a few more weeks.

This is NOT good enough. How can Colbert be beaten by a rip off of “the Sneaky Chef?!” Most of those recipes taste horrible!

I AM AMERICA debuts at #1 on the NYT bestseller list the week of Oct. 28 in the nonfiction hardcover category. The Oct. 28 list reflects sales the week I AM AMERICA first went on sale. Tricky stuff, the NYT bestseller list, but essentially, in the first week I AM AMERICA was on sale (and the NYT week runs Saturday to Sunday, with the book going on sale Tuesday) it was the bestselling nonfiction hardcover book among the titles the NYT is *tracking* according the *reporting* stores/sources. Hope that makes sense.

Other, perhaps more accurate sources to get book data: Booksense bestseller lists, Nielsen Bookscan numbers (don’t know how you’d get access to those, but might as well try, right?)…
