Wonkette.com: “As probably a few of you saw on last night’s ‘Colbert Report’, Stephen Colbert announced his candidacy for president in the South Carolina primary. In other news, Stephen Colbert has a new book that he is trying to sell.”

Ouch!

This is just sublime. His very presence in South Carolina puts the other candidates on notice - he will pounce on their half truths, pontifications and cliches like a tiger. He will also reach some, younger, disaffected voters and steal media coverage. It's a brilliant tactical move.
