Answering the ‘Make Me America!’ cry (MakeMeAmerica.com, that is)

An update from the fabulous folks behind MakeMeAmerica.com:

An update on Stephen Colbert’s makemeamerica.com.

It’s been a little over a week since we launched makemeamerica.com for Stephen Colbert, and by way of an update, here are a few points of interest:

  • You can now see Stephen’s delightful visage on several top CSS Galleries. We thank you for that, CSS Galleries. America thanks you.
  • There are over 4300 Oprah book club petitions (at the time of this writing).
  • As As of this morning, the World Domination map is open for business outside the confines of the United States border. Time to conquer the world!
  • Speaking of international support, check out Canada — they sure are organized up there:

I’ve tried about five different addresses – seems like they’ve never heard about Germany … ;-)

    Mala,

For what it’s worth, I see a couple of pins stuck in Europe now. There may be hope for you yet! :)

They put France as an example and still don’t recognize my address. Bah :p

Yeah, I’ve had a difficult time getting “Köln” in there. Finally I succeeded if I select “Inside US” and enter “Koeln”.
Also, UTF-8 support has gone away. :-( It was in there before!

Other than that, great great page! I love it!
Flash-less, yet gorgeous. Great functionality and gimmicks. A++!

    Ms Interpreted,

    - and one of them’s even in Germany! So it’s got to be working! *Can’t get it to work. Is sad. Will try again tomorrow.*

That’s quite a savvy marketing tool on the publisher’s part. I wonder how much input SC had into it.

  8. Jennie says:

OK – I updated my profile and now there’s a pin in Italy… but it seems a little far East for Rome. I’m going to assume it’s me though.

  9. SazzrahUK says:

Woop! there are a bunch of pins in the UK now =D Although I have just realised that you can zoom right in and see exactly where I live :-S I think I need to change my address so there is less detail!!

  10. Jennie says:

SazzrahUK: LOL – I didn’t realize you could do that! So yes, that pin in Italy is mine – but thanks to a typo I have inadvertently kept myself somewhat anonymous.

It’s fun watching for NFZ folks on the Photosightings. Vigwig has some very cool shots. And I took the book out to see Big Butter Jesus. I’m hoping to get a few more but I’ve been busy with work. It’s a great site. Yes, very savvy. Anybody find anymore of the easter eggs besides the religionizer?
