Every pore? You can tell the thread count on the shirt.

Nation! Prepare for your Fantastic Voyage!
But seriously, Stephen looks just as fantastic in extreme close up. I wish they wouldn’t paint him Oompha-Loompha Orange on the show.

Well he takes great care of his teeth! :D
Seriously, no one over 21 should be subject to such hi rez images. There are age spots, moles, zits, sun damage and all manner of middle aged cellular decline for all the world to see. Poor Stephen.

Whoa, that IS a little scary – for anyone to be photographed that close-up, not just Stephen. But it’s refreshing to see him out of the suit and stage makeup.

As someone who should have invested in Clairol futures years ago, I have to say, Mr. Colbert does have really lovely graying hair.

Wow, the hugeness of these does make them rather “Great Oz” like. You know the camera is too close when you realize that you can count the fillings in his teeth in that second picture! He’s so photogenic though, nice pictures overall.

I would not have taken Stephen for a no-undershirt man. Goodness.

@Meowhouse:
Maybe he’s wearing an a-shirt? That’s what my Life Partner du Jour wears as undershirts when it’s hot. And the neck is much more scooped.

I guess he could have an A-shirt on. I hadn’t even thought of that. Now I wonder if he ever played Stanley Kowalski in college. Goodness! ;-)
