We’ve been hiding this stuff under “SPOILER” warnings, but if you don’t know about the water fight, you have either been living under a rock or don’t read this blog often. So here’s yet another bit of info about the fight and the upcoming appearance on TCR.
From The Sun (UK):
Raging Branson soaks TV host
By EMILY SMITH – US Editor
August 14, 2007FURIOUS Richard Branson threw a glass of water over a US telly host — after being banned from plugging his new airline.
Shocked presenter Stephen Colbert, 43, demanded a bottle of water from aides and retaliated by tossing that over the Virgin tycoon.
Producers had to scrap the interview with Branson, 57, which was being recorded in front of a live studio audience in New York.An audience member said: “The two of them sat for a very uncomfortable second looking like two wet cats.
“Then Stephen thanked him for coming.
“They had to get him a new jacket and even broke out a blow-dryer.
“Every one of the crew had a ‘What the f***?’ reaction.”
Last night, a Virgin spokesman insisted that Branson had been invited on The Colbert Report to chat about his new low-cost service between New York and Los Angeles.
But top US political comic Stephen — who Branson has named a plane after — had other ideas.
The spokesman confirmed: “Richard did throw his water over Stephen. As most people know, Richard can be unpredictable.”
…
He will re-record Colbert’s show later this week.
Gee … that quote looks awfully familiar. Way to credit a source, Sun!
I just noticed you use a Poland Spring pic. Very thorough!

I looks like they missed crediting us twice – once for Rocktimus Prime’s tip and then using Murasaki’s version for the rest of the story! And then they didn’t even mention about him tearing off his shirt!

I heard about this being in the sun so I bought a copy and this story with a good picture of Stephen is on page 3 right next to Vikki, 18, from Essex with the big titties

Wow, Stephen is in a British newspaper! cool :D I don’t read the Sun though because it is aload of crap! I’d love it if they showed the interview on British TV, then maybe someone will take notice of how awesome TCR is and start broadcasting it in the UK! I’ll keep dreaming….:-)

If I was to read in The Sun that the Earth was round, I’d seek a second opinion.
