We got this dish from Laura, who was at ‘The Colbert Report’ on July 31st. She was one of the lucky ones who got to ask a question of Stephen during his pre-show Q&A session.

I was at the 7/31/07 taping and I asked him about Nancy Pelosi signing his cast (if she really signed it and what she said) and Stephen said yes, she really did, which those of us who read the NFZ blog already knew. But then he said she didn’t really want to sign his cast and he thinks that her daughter pressured her into it. Then, when he was talking to her he said “Thank you so much for agreeing to be on my show!” and she said “I will not go on your show.” So, he turned and looked at the camera next to him and said “Weeelllll, you kind of are…” Apparantly she did not like that too much!
Nailed! Stephen is the sly one. :D

Ya know, I was hoping when we finally got a female with real power, she’d be cool. But obviously Pelosi is just another blowhard politiician. If anything, you’d think she’d be a huge Colbert fan. Who has done more to totally rip her Republican opponents than Stephen? The Correspondents Dinner monologue alone was worth a big thank-you note from Nancy Pants.
