Well, hopefully all you poor souls who have been dealing with technical problems all day are finding workarounds now. In the meantime, here are a few notes on upcoming appearances by individuals with connections to the Colbertoverse:
- Reminder: Series co-writer Tom Peyer will be in Seattle at Comics Dungeon to sign copies of “Stephen Colbert’s Tek Jansen Adventures” tomorrow (Saturday) from 12-3.
- Reminder: The Daily Show/Colbert Report Improv Jam @ FIT is fast approaching (Saturday, July 28th). The performance will feature names familiar to the Comedy Central fake news followers, including Dan Bakkedahl, Peter Grosz, Peter Gwinn, Ed Helms, Laura Krafft and Rob Riggle. Get your tickets now!
- Just in: The Onion (“America’s Finest News Source”) is holding a benefit for Greenpeace at Comix on July 19th. The benefit will be hosted by familiar face Jordan Carlos, and The Daily Show’s John Oliver has just been added to the lineup (in place of Michael Ian Black, who will be unable to attend). Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. [Editor's note: John Oliver will be a busy young man in the coming week. According to this, he's also set to host the Television Critics Association Awards; the ceremony is scheduled for July 21st.]
- And announcing: New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theater is home to “Crash Test” this Monday at 11:00 p.m. The Daily Show’s Demetri Martin is scheduled to perform with Flight of the Conchords’ Eugene Mirman and Michael Showalter (Stella, etc.). Have fun!
- UPDATE: Matt Lappin (of Strangers with Candy and The Colbert Report) will be hosting “F*ck Monkeys Unite” at the Parkside Lounge tonight (Saturday, July 14th).
Thanks for the tip, Jennie!
I just found this post at Lazarus Rising.com noting that Matt Lapin (producer of SWC and TCR) will be hosting a show at Parkside Lounge (317 E Houston) 7-9 pm Saturday night.
