Matt Poitras, the creator of the amazing armor and the owner of MP Filmcraft, has more information about the Patriot Armor on his website. Here’s what he has to say about this project on his site:
Only a true patriot can wear this armor. Inspired by Roman-influenced monuments and sculptures in Washington, DC. This one is American-themed Roman armor that George Washington would have strapped on himself. It features 13 large stars that represent the first 13 colonies and another 37 smaller stars to make a total of 50. Red skirting and red and white striped cape. Features Stephen Colbert coin with “Truthiness” embossed on it. Also features Stephen Jr. eagle with STC brass initials.
I received an e-mail from Matt today, and he said that he just finished the Colbert helmet, and will send pics very soon, and send more information about the armor. We’re looking forward to it, Matt!

That is truly a stunning piece of craftsmanship. Love the detail, which was not visible on TV. And he looks at least as good in it as Stephen did. Maybe better. (I kid, I kid!) (Maybe I’m a little serious.) ::ducks and runs::
