THE BLOGOSPHERE ERUPTS! – Googlebombing campaign for “Greatest Living American” (and “Giant Brass Balls”)

By DB on April 18th, 2007 ·

On Monday, this blog reported about the Alchemy of Search’s Googlebombing campaign to get Stephen Colbert listed #1 as Greatest Living American (with accompanying link to ColbertNation.com).

Now I still think I like Stephen’s original idea from the blog post best (“During the Q&A period before the show, Stephen said he would like to rank first on Google for Giant Brass Balls. “). But the blogosphere has decided to support the Greatest Living American theme for the Googlebomb.

For those of you playing at home, this is what Alchemist Media is proposing:

1) GIANT BRASS BALLS Googlebomb

Copy this text and place it somewhere in a post in your personal blog or web site:

2) GREATEST LIVING AMERICAN Googlebomb

Copy this text and place it somewhere in a post in your personal blog or web site:

Here’s some of the blogs that are playing the Googlebomb game along with Alchemist Media:

Sounds like a marvelous idea; thanks for the code. I’ve gone and added it to my site and will also add to my MySpace.

DB, sorry; I don’t know if I posted that second comment accidentally? I didn’t mean to. Don’t feel bad about nuking it, and this one too.
