An interview with John Kerry (plus some backstage footage)
ByJosh Marshall of Talking Points Memo interviewed Sen. John Kerry just before Sen. Kerry’s appearance on Monday’s episode of The Colbert Report. The backstage footage includes Stephen’s famous advice to his guests, “Are you, uh, familiar with what we do here? . . . You know I’m an idiot, right?” Video courtesy of YouTube:
We’ll add part 2 as soon as TPM gets it posted; stay tuned!

OMG! You might add to your intro to this clip that around 2:00, you get to see Stephen actually give his advisory to the guest: “Are you, uh, familiar with what we do here? … You know I’m an idiot, right?” And he actually advises Kerry to “Disabuse me of my ignorance” — as he said at Harvard. “Or you can join the lie if you want.” I’ve never seen that onscreen before. Fascinating!

I dunno what he really said, but it sounded like he told Kerry he could “play some DDR” at first. LOL

Gaia Faye, you’re probably referring to the part where Stephen said to Sen. Kerry, “Let’s have a PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon beer).”
WWG, I edited the post as per your suggestion. :)
I love seeing this behind the scenes stuff!
