Preview: It’s official, Rep. Steve Cohen on “The Colbert Report” tonight

By Ms Interpreted on March 1st, 2007 ·

We previously reported here at the No Fact Zone that tonight (March 1st) was the unofficial air date for residents of Tennessee’s “Fightin’ Ninth” to see their Congressman, Steve Cohen, on The Colbert Report. It is now official; here’s the press release from Cohen’s website (complete with a helpful description of The Colbert Report and BKAD, for those coming a bit late to the party):

CONGRESSMAN COHEN BECOMES “BETTER KNOWN”
Washington, DC — Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) will appear on The Colbert Report Thursday evening, March 1 at 10:30 p.m. Central Time on Comedy Central.

Congressman Cohen taped the “interview” with Stephen Colbert earlier in February. The Colbert Report is a parody of ultra conservative talk shows, such as The O’Reilly Factor with Bill O’Reilly on Fox News Channel.

The interview is part of a series of segments known as “Better Know a District,” which feature host Stephen Colbert conducting mock interviews with members of Congress.

I can’t wait to see what “Stephen” does with this – he gets to mock a man who wore a “Member of the Colbert Nation” pin to the interview!
