Wired photographer Ryan Brenizer snapped some great pictures while visiting this year’s New York Comic Con. He blogs about it here, with this photo featured:
“Stephen Colbert shows off Tek Jansen, an upcoming comic based on one of his characters’ characters, at New York Comic Con 2007. Here, he gives our photographer his ‘Comic Book Friend’ pose, based on an inside joke from The Colbert Report.”
Truth be told, though, I rather prefer this photo (posted on Mr. Brenizer’s Flickr account); it completes the Janus-like portrait of Stephen Colbert:
That photo is my new work wallpaper. I don’t laugh often enough at work, but it’s been making me laugh all day long.

Clearly in that second picture he can see the fangirls coming.

Wow. Those are great. I am not so sure about the whiskers. I am not a fan of those on any man. But still a cool picture.

His stare is hypnotic. I find myself staring back, and it is as if we could peer into each other souls. I am totally wigging out. *hyperventilates into brown paper bag*
BTW – I did add the release dates for the first 2 issues into the calendar for those of you awaiting the first editions…

That second photograph is such a great find, and the expression is priceless!
Is there any way you would be willing to share the background you made of it with the rest of the nation?

@The Lake Effect:

Seconding that thanks to TLE; it’s really good to know you’re staying on top of the calendar (I never could manage it).
Lackadaisical, I’m not totally sure what you were asking regarding sharing the background. Did you mean saving it as your own Windows wallpaper? Right clicking on the photo and choosing “Set as background” ought to do the trick, but if that’s not what you meant, please clarify and I’ll try to answer your question.
I am loving that second pic. It’s been keeping me amused ever since I saw it. Glad y’all are enjoying it, too!

I heard rumours about him being unshaven and all stubbly. *swoons* Thank you for the second picture…
Whomever said he saw the fangirls coming, LOL! I think you’re right!
