Stephen Colbert in the Zeitgiest – the We Got The Scoop edition (2/6/2007)

Well, kids, we took a risk last week publishing the new Ben and Jerry’s ice cream flavor, but it seems to have paid off. While we still don’t have 100% verification of the flavor we posted, we did recieive a very interesting letter from Ben & Jerry’s corporate PR gurus suggesting that an ice cream is in the works. I’m guessing that Whole Foods the corporate offices that got the ice cream carton featured in this blog were lucky enough to get a prototype, one of the flavors in consideration for the title. But it also sounds like other options are being explored as well.

At any rate, this story is being picked up all over the place, and I’m just loving all the traffic the site is getting. And to all of our new visitors: Welcome! Or to our Canadian visitors, WELCOME!

Stephen Colbert: The Ice Cream

  • What’s The Truthiness Behind Stephen Colbert Ice Cream? – BestWeekEver.tv: “It’s a real shame that Ben & Jerry are too cool for what would promise to be another enticing flavor: Bill O’Reilly’s “Falafel Zone in a Waffle Cone!”, a delicious mix of vanilla ice cream, chunks of falafel, peanut-butter dipped smugness and a swirl of ass.”
  • Stephen Colbert Ice Cream? – CC Insider Blog: “Salon suggests “Stephen Colberry” (left), but is soliciting other suggestions and will share the best later this week. (We just hope there are little chocolate cookie bears in it.)”
  • The Fix: Truthilicious? – Salon.com: “There have been rumors floating around Stephen Colbert fan sites for some time that Ben & Jerry’s is working on some sort of Colbert-themed ice cream. After a tip yesterday (thanks, Ms. Interpreted), we put a call in to the ice cream company, and got this coy reply from spokesman Rob Michalak: “I can neither confirm nor deny it. But I can say there’s been a lot of experimentation with red, white and blue.” “
