Betrayal? Or truthiness?

For many of us, one of the highlights of last night’s pundit swap was seeing Stephen placing the commemorative microwave from Fox News on his shelf. Imagine my surprise, then, to learn that what he told us and what Fox News told Rachel Sklar over at Eat the Press don’t match up.

At the close of his show, Stephen said: “. . . I am placing on my bookshelf tonight this microwave oven that I stole from the O’Reilly Factor green room when I was over there. Honest to God.”

But Fox News spokeswoman Irena Briganti told Eat the Press: “Colbert told O’Reilly off-camera of his plan to take the microwave from the Green Room. ‘We were well aware of it and entirely amused – it was all in good fun . . . We honestly just thought the whole thing was hysterical.’”

Is this a betrayal of the Nation’s trust? Or did “Stephen” simply tell us the truthiness of the matter? Read more here, and let us know what you think.

Ah… that’s too bad that they knew about it, but it explains how they were able to “smuggle” out a microwave.
I’ll just use a little bit of truthiness myself and pretend Stephen really did “steal” it without their prior knowledge ;)

I’m not surprised they’re buying O’Reilly a new microwave. It’d be out of character for the real Stephen to keep the one the took without compensating.

  3. considering that FOX couldn’t get his story straight regarding whether or not he informed FOX and not just O’Reilly, I’m inlcined ot believe he snagged it with the help of one of Bill’s ex-production team members… as a parting shot…

and since we are more intelligent than than the MSM would have the outside world believe, we really don’t care.
