Ben & Jerry to Colbert fans: Eat me!

There’s an insane rumor going around (and insane is my very favorite kind) that Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is developing a Stephen Colbert ice cream flavor! Did I miss some kind of vote for this?! Maybe it’s the new 2006 flavor “American Pie“, renamed?
Remember folks, you heard it here second!
Oh, and if you haven’t had a Cherry Garcia beverage yet you need to. It is further proof that there is a God and that he loves me. That and the limited edition Hershey’s Cherry Cordial Kisses. I’m a sucker for anything flavored like a chocolate covered cherry. That has nothing to do with Stephen Colbert, I’m just sharing a bit about me.

hmm … I think over on LJ or somewhere someone noted once that they should make a Stephen Colbert: French Vanilla ice cream (with I think something else ingenius too that I can’t remember)

I bet it’ll be just like Phish Food and both Dave Matthews flavours — we won’t get it in Canadian stores. Boy, the sacrifices I make by living in the middle of this country…. Off I go, driving across the border with a cooler in my trunk. Again.

I really hope that’s true.
Speaking of the DMB ones, I’m pissed they got rid of One Sweet Whirled. That was my favorite ice cream ever :(

In late October this was posted on ColbertNation.com with the suggestion that we all suggest French vanilla with “Colberries” (red and blue berries. I know a bunch of people rallied behind that, although some liked one involving apple pie.
B&J has an ongoing place to suggest new flavors, so everyone can still chime in today!:

It is true. Just saw it today. The Colbert ice cream is vanilla with fudge covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl.

More info: the flavor is called “Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream”. The packaging is great, although the text is not particularly inspired and, sadly, it refers interested parties to Colbert Nation rather than the No Fact Zone. But overall, I would rate this product as both tasty and hilarious, much like the man who inspired it.
