Hungarian Ambassador András Simonyi’s Visit to The Colbert Report

Hungarian Ambassador András Simonyi was on The Colbert Report this Thursday, and this is what the Hungarian Embassy’s site has to say about the event:

Hungarian Ambassador in the Colbert Report

Ambassador András Simonyi was the guest of Stephen Colbert in Comedy Central’s Colbert Report last night.

The Hungarian Government launched an online contest to name a new bridge (M0 bridge) over the Danube last Spring. In the past three months, Stephen Colbert has discussed this topic numerous times in his show. After the initial weeks of voting when American actor Chuck Norris had been in the lead, Colbert “instructed the Colbert Nation” to vote for him. The first and second rounds of the poll both resulted in Stephen Colbert winning the race, the first time by 17 million votes.

After the Government of Hungary had closed the online contest on September 8, Colbert invited Ambassador Simonyi to his show.
