PREVIEW: Tonight’s show last one before a TWO WEEK HIATUS!

By DB on August 24th, 2006 ·

Enjoy tonight’s show, people. It’s the last new one you’ll be getting for two weeks. While this blog is looking forward to getting caught up on some much needed sleep, I’m also going to be doing some serious Jonesing for some Colbert. Here’s some ideas to keep you occupied beteween 1:00AM tomorrow and 12:00 PM on September 11th when they return:

  • 2006 Emmy Awards – Not only is The Colbert Report up for four Emmy awards (plus Stephen is also up for a writing Emmy with The Daily Show), Stephen will be presenting during the show as well!
  • Wigfield - This is a Holy Book of Obligation for all Stephen Colbert fans. The book is great, but the book PLUS the audio CD of the reading of the book by Colbert is amazing! Listen to the CD, and then read the sections in the book and enjoy the pictures.
  • YouTube and Motherload – Get your Colbert on with videos from Comedy Central and YouTube. You can see a list of recommended YouTube vidoes at this site’s Audio/Visual page.
  • OSCLA.com – Come commisserate with other Colbert fans during the Long Dark Haitus of the Soul at this Stephen Colbert-centered Fan Forum
  • Strangers With Candy – The Movie and A Great New Wonderful - Stephen is in TWO different theatrical release movies running in arthouses near you. Go find one of these arthouses and enjoy a little Colbert with your popcorn and Coca-Cola. The Great New Wonderful is opening in Dallas tomorrow, August 25th, and I’ll be there tomorrow night with bells on. Not literally. I’ll most probably be there with a Woodchuck Cider, because it’s payday and they sell booze at the fancy movie house.
  • Bewitched – Stephen Colbert has a small part in this movie, but if you rent/buy it, you HAVE to check out the Bonus features, especially the bits with Nora Ephron. Trust me.

And don’t forget to check this site often (or add our RSS feed to your reader). We’ll keep you up to date on all the Colbert news articles, Emmy celebrations (fingers crossed, people!), Bridge updates, Green Screen videos and anything else we can find to keep entertained while The Colbert Report is dark.
